BE SAFE AND SOUND!
USE OUR FLOATS SO YOU DON'T DROWN.

TinyPontoonBoats.com sells USA made modular plastic pontoons. Our plastic pontoons are available in 17" wide, 26", wide, 37" wide, and massive 56" wide sizes. All of our floats are made out of a super tough HDPE plastic and have a closed-cell urethane foam filling. This combination makes for a super durable float that is also super safe. The honest truth is that we have not had a customer crack one of these floats in the years that we have been selling them, but if you were to crack one, you're not going in the drink, as the foam itself floats as well. As these floats are made from HDPE plastic, being the same super tough material that milk jugs are made from, you don't have to worry about dents or corrosion. These floats are especially great if you need a craft to go in salt water or hazardous contaminated environments.

Our plastic pontoon floats are made to meet US Coast Guard specifications and are a great option for people building or retrofitting pontoon boats, work barges, boat docks, and swimming rafts. They're easy to build platforms for as they have mounting flanges with molded-in bolt holes, so you don't have to drill holes in the plastic. To make things simple, we also sell bolt-together boat and swimming raft frames for our 17" and 26" floats. Please check out our "FRAME KITS" page to see what we have available.

We offer our floats individually or in kits to show arrangement possibilities. Please check out what we have to offer below.

Please see the SHIPPING and FAQ section at the bottom of this page for shipping details and other common questions.

17" DIAMETER PONTOON NOSE CONES
-$224 EACH

Our 17" diameter nose cones are great for cutting through the water when building a small boat or work barge. Some customers even like to put them on both ends of their boat to make it easier to maneuver. These parts weigh 14 pounds each and are designed with an indent in the rear for the button on one end of the correcsponding straight pontoon sections listed below. They can however be butted against other nose cones or the socket end of the straight sections (button and socket do not have to mate - they are plenty stout). Our 17" nose cones have mounting channels molded into the top made to accept 1.5" wide rectangular tubing or timber (nominal size 2" lumber actually measures 1 1/2" thick). If you are in need of a simple frame solution for these floats, please check out our frame kits and components page. These foam filled floats are available in black, blue, or orange.

To the right we have provided dimensioned diagrams showing our 17" diameter nose cone floats, and we have also provided CAD models to download below (2 formats) for those designing their own boat. Below to the right, we also have an example of this size float on a boat that was built here (prior to our bolt-together frame kits).

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: How quickly do floats ship? How does shipping work?

A: To cover our tails, we have to say that turn-around time is typically 1-3 weeks, but we often have black color floats in stock to fill small to medium size orders quickly. Orange and blue floats are always special-order, so you can expect them to have a 2-3 week lead time any time of the year. Our busiest time for floats is typically March through July, but any time of the year, filling orders is our top priority, and floats ship as soon as possible. If you absolutely need floats to ship now, please be prepared to place the order with us as soon as you get our answer concerning inventory.

Our floats ship from our partnering factory in northeast AR. For US customers, small orders of 17" floats can ship with FedEx Ground, but orders of 8 pieces or more typically ship via truck freight to be more economical. 26" wide, 37" wide, and Elephant Series floats ship via truck freight, regardless as to the quantity ordered. Local pick-up is available for those close enough to visit the plastics facility. Prior arrangements are required, and due to an on-going shipping schedule, 2-3 business days are required to have orders prepared for in-person pick-up. Purchases are not able to be made at the factory, and customers are not allowed to enter the manufacturing floor. Customers who arrive at the plastics facility without prior arrangements will be turned away.

INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS: We ship via truck freight to Canada and Mexico, but if you're located outside of North America, we only ship via ocean freight. We can ship just about anywhere in the world, but it is most economical to pick-up at your local sea port if you're outside North America. When shipping via sea freight, the cost that you pay through us is ONLY the cost to get the freight onto the boat and physically to the local dock or to your doorstep. Your local port WILL have additional fees on top of our freight charge, and you WILL be responsible for your local importaion taxes and fees on top of those costs. We simply don't have a way to calculate or collect these fees ahead of delivery, so we strongly recommend doing your own research concerning the local fees you will encounter when importing our products. Also, many countries require working with an importation broker to file customs documents. We do not include this service and you will be responsible for making such arrangements.

The cost of shipping varies enough from one location to another that we are not able to provide an automated shipping calculator on our site. SHIPPING IS NOT INCLUDED IN OUR PRICING. If shipping is required, contact us with your COMPLETE shipping address before making your purchase; we are not able to quote freight with just a zip code. We work with multiple freight companies and always shop for the best rate for you. Depending on what you're looking to order and where you are located, a fair amount of work can go into obtaining a freight quote, so please be reasonable with your requests. As the costs of shipping is constantly fluctuating, shipping quotes are typically only valid for a few days and extended shipping quotes are not available.

Q: How thick is the plastic on the floats? Precisely what is the material?

A: All of our floats are made with super tough HDPE plastic shells that are rotomolded using ExxonMobile HD 8660 Rotational Molding HDPE granules. Click HERE to view the specification sheet for this material. This is the same type of material that drop-in pickup truck bed liners are snowmobile skis are made from. The internal foam filling is a non water absorbent urethane foam manufactured by Dow Chemicals. MSDS sheets for the HDPE granuals and urethane foam are available below.

HD 8660 HDPE granules MSDS
Dow Chemicals urethane foam MSDS

Our 17" diameter floats have outer shell walls that range from 3/16" to 3/8" thick, with the thickest parts being at the corners of the floats, mounting flanges, and tip of the nose cones. The larger floats (26" wide, 36" wide, and Elephant Series floats) have wall thicknesses that vary from 1/4" to 3/8" thick. Each float section is an independent sealed unit.

Q: What is the warranty on these floats?

A: Our floats have a 1-year warranty that covers manufacturing defects. This period starts the day that the floats leave the factory. This is a 365 day period and the warranty covers the cost of freight for customers in the contiguous US (Alaska and Hawaii are not included), but not the cost of installation. For non-US customers, replacement parts themselves are covered under warranty, but the cost of freight is not included. If you receive a float and find a defect, please contact us as soon as possible and we will replace the part or parts after clear pictures of the defect or defects are received. Crash damage, misuse, and abuse are not covered under warranty.

Q: What happens if one breaks?

A: These pontoons have been in production for over 30 years, and in the years of us selling them, we have not had a customer break or crack one of our floats. They really are tough as nails! However, if you do have the misfortune of piercing one, you can either easily replace the float, or repair it, but when the damage happens, you won't sink due to the non-water absorbing urethane foam inside the float. If you choose to repair a float, remove it from the vessel (or at least pull the boat out of the water), let it drain in a dry area for a couple days, and use a HDPE plastic welding kit (often advertised as a kayak repair kit - they use the same material). This is a kit that comes with a special electric soldering iron-type tool and some plastic welding rod. People who kayak uses this type of kit to repair their boats after rock damage. These kits are obtainable for about $60 on eBay or Amazon.

Q: What do I use for a frame? Does your company build frames or provide plans?

A: We have an extensive line of aluminum framed boat kits for our 17" and 26" wide floats for boats up to 15' in length. Our home page has our mini boats separated into four categories to make the selection process easy. We also also offer large scale aluminum frame systems for our 37" wide floats listed on the BigAssPontoonBoats.com page. We do not offer frame systems for the Elephant Series floats and will not be developing one. Our frames come with all the pieces you need to bolt together a solid base for pleasure and utility boats. We will not provide plans for alternative frame systems.

Q: Can I add your plastic floats to my existing boat as a "third pontoon"? How do I do this?

A: This is a common use for our 17" diameter and 26" wide plastic floats. We do not offer full kits to do this, but the materials and hardware required to mount a "third pontoon" assmbly under your boat are easy to obtain. To make it even easier, we've provided a set of general instructions for mounting a run of our plastic floats under other brands of boats below. Just be aware that different brands of boats use different frame arrangements, so you'll have to modify your approach as necessary to accomplish the task.

17" THIRD PONTOON INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Q: How do your floats hold up if the water freezes? Will the ice break them?

A: This question comes up a lot when speaking with customers in colder climates. We have a few Canadian customers that have informed us that they've built floating rafts and work barges that stay in the water year round, including through the winter where the ice freezes solid around the floats, and they have provided no reports of failed floats. These customers have our 26" and 37" wide floats and have reported back that they have done this for years at this point without any failure of the floats. However, we do not know if these customers leave their vessels unloaded or fully loaded during the cold weather, so we don't know how far down the floats are in the water. We can say for certain that a couple inches of ice won't hurt our floats, but we do still recommend at least pulling your vessel onto the shore if it is not being used during the winter if your area gets a hard freeze.

We also froze one of our 6'x6' swim rafts in the ice during the winter of 2019/2020, and it was unscathed when the ice melted out in the spring. Below is a picture of the raft in January 2020. As you can see, it was frozen solid in ice. When this picture was taken, the ice around the raft measured 8" thick a few feet away, so we can assume that each float was completely frozen in below the waterline. We will continue to freeze test our floats year after year to compile more survival data.

Q: How is payment accepted?

A: For orders totaling up to $7000, we are able to accept payment via credit card, PayPal, check, or electronic bank transfer. Payment for orders totaling over $7000 must be in the form of a bank-to-bank wire transfer, ACH payment, company check, or certified bank check. Personal checks are not accepted for orders totaling over $7000. Payment is due at the time the order is placed, and no order will be placed into our production queue before payment is received. "Net" payment terms are not offered by Silver Lake Fabrication LLC. This is a steadfast company policy. All prices shown are in USD and are subject to change without prior public notice.

Q: How do returns and cancellations work?

A: Simply put, they do not work. We DO NOT accept returns and we WILL NOT cancel an order. We work hard to get orders out the door as quickly as possible and provide the best service that we can. This means that when you commit to a purchase, we have committed to fill the order in a timely manner. Once an order is placed, the money you've paid goes into materials and labor specifically for your order, and we don't get that back, even if you change your mind. We repeat, WE DO NOT ACCEPT RETURNS AND WE WILL NOT CANCEL ORDERS.
