MODULAR PLASTIC BOAT, BARGE, & SWIM RAFT PONTOONS
TinyPontoonBoats.com sells USA made modular plastic pontoons. Our plastic pontoons are available in 17" wide, 26", wide, 37" wide, and massive 56" wide sizes. All of our floats are made out of a super tough HDPE plastic and have a closed-cell urethane foam filling. This combination makes for a super durable float that is also super safe. The honest truth is that we have not had a customer crack one of these floats in the years that we have been selling them, but if you were to crack one, you're not going in the drink, as the foam itself floats as well. As these floats are made from HDPE plastic, being the same super tough material that milk jugs are made from, you don't have to worry about dents or corrosion. These floats are especially great if you need a craft to go in salt water or hazardous contaminated environments.

Our plastic pontoon floats are made to meet US Coast Guard specifications and are a great option for people building or retrofitting pontoon boats, work barges, boat docks, and swimming rafts. They're easy to build platforms for as they have mounting flanges with molded-in bolt holes, so you don't have to drill holes in the plastic. To make things simple, we also sell bolt-together boat and swimming raft frames for our 17" and 26" floats. Please check out our "FRAME KITS" page to see what we have available.

We offer our floats individually or in kits to show arrangement possibilities. Please check out what we have to offer below.

Please see the SHIPPING and FAQ section at the bottom of this page for shipping details and other common questions.

17" DIAMETER PONTOON NOSE CONES - $200 EACH

The 17" nose cones are great for cutting through the water when you're building a small boat. They weigh only 14 pounds each and are designed with an indent on the rear portion to except the outdent on the corresponding straight 17" pontoon segments listed below. They have a 1 5/8" wide channel molded into the top that easily accepts 1.5" wide rectangular metal tubing or standard 2" nominal size timbers (timbers actually measure 1 1/2" in thickness). If you are in need of a simple frame solution for these floats, please check out our frame kits and components page. These floats are available in black or blue.

To the right we have dimensioned diagrams showing the 17" nose cone segments, but we have also provided a 3-D CAD drawing of this float segment to make designing your boat simple. Please be aware that our CAD model is not exact, but the critical dimensions are correct (mounting positions, diameter, and length of float). Below to the right, we also have an example of this size float on a vessel.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Below we have covered some common questions about our plastic floats. If you have a question that is not covered here, please be sure to contact us.

Q: How does shipping work for these floats? How quickly do they ship?
A: These floats ship direct from the factory in Arkansas and typically ship 1-3 weeks after the purchase is made. Order sizes vary greatly for us, so there's no real way to say if inventory will be available to ship before an order is placed. If you need to know if floats are available to ship NOW, please call us and be prepared to place the order when you get our answer.

As these floats are manufactured in central AR, local pick-up is not available in NH. Our frame kits ship from our metal shop in Concord, NH, but not the floats. If you are close to central AR, or if you decide that it's worth the drive to save on freight, we are more than happy to make pick-up arrangements so you can pick up the parts in person. However, we do typically have a few floats on hand as part of our display boat kits if you'd like to visit us to see them in person. Prior appointment is required.

The cost of shipping varies enough that we are unable to provide an online shipping calculator on our site. If shipping is required, please email or call to provide us with your full shipping address. We work with multiple truck freight shippers and do our best to get you the most reasonable shipping rate. We state it multiple times on this page, but please bear in mind that SHIPPING IS NOT INCLUDED IN OUR PRICING. Please contact us for a shipping quote before making your purchase.

Q: How thick is the plastic on the floats?
A: The thickness of the walls of the pontoons depends on the size float that you're looking at and which part of the float you are analyzing. The wall of the 17" diameter pontoons are 3/16"-3/8" thick, with the thickest parts being at the corners of the parts, mounting points, and tip of the nose cones. The larger floats (26" wide, 36" wide, and Super Pontoons) have wall thicknesses that vary from 1/4" to 3/8" thick.

Q: What happens if one breaks?
A: These pontoons have been in production for over 30 years, and over the years of us selling them, we have not had a customer break or crack one of our floats. However, if you're the lucky one who does break or crack one, you can either easily replace the float, or repair it. If you choose to repair a float, remove it from the vessel, let it drain in a dry area for a couple days and use a HDPE plastic welding kit. This is a kit that comes with a special electric soldering iron-type tool and some plastic welding rod. People who kayak uses this type of kit to repair their boats with rock damage. These kits are obtainable for about $50. Most importantly, if you do manage to puncture a float, you're not going into the drink! Our floats use a closed-cell foam filling that provides both structural support and safety. This materials floats, so even if it gets a little wet, it doesn't absorb water and you can continue without sinking.

Q: What do I use for a frame? Does your company build frames or provide plans?
A: We are excited to say that we will be offering frame kits for our 17" and 26" diameter floats by the end of Arpril 2019. Please check out our FRAME KITS page to see the details. As soon as our first batch of in-house designed aluminum extrusion comes off the line, we'll be accepting orders.

Our larger 37" floats and Super Pontoons require that the customer builds his/her own frame system. We are happy to provide verbal advice concerning platforms for the larger floats, but we do not provide a structural engineering services, draw up plans for customers, or have plans to development frame kits for the 37" floats and Super Pontoons at this time.
