BE SAFE AND SOUND!

USE OUR FLOATS SO YOU DON'T DROWN.

TinyPontoonBoats.com sells USA made modular plastic pontoons. Our plastic pontoons are available in 17" wide, 26", wide, 37" wide, and massive 56" wide sizes. All of our floats are made out of a super tough HDPE plastic and have a closed-cell urethane foam filling. This combination makes for a super durable float that is also super safe. The honest truth is that we have not had a customer crack one of these floats in the years that we have been selling them, but if you were to crack one, you're not going in the drink, as the foam itself floats as well. As these floats are made from HDPE plastic, being the same super tough material that milk jugs are made from, you don't have to worry about dents or corrosion. These floats are especially great if you need a craft to go in salt water or hazardous contaminated environments.

Our plastic pontoon floats are made to meet US Coast Guard specifications and are a great option for people building or retrofitting pontoon boats, work barges, boat docks, and swimming rafts. They're easy to build platforms for as they have mounting flanges with molded-in bolt holes, so you don't have to drill holes in the plastic. To make things simple, we also sell bolt-together boat and swimming raft frames for our 17" and 26" floats. Please check out our "FRAME KITS" page to see what we have available.

We offer our floats individually or in kits to show arrangement possibilities. Please check out what we have to offer below.

Please see the SHIPPING and FAQ section at the bottom of this page for shipping details and other common questions.

17" DIAMETER PONTOON NOSE CONES
-$200 EACH

Our 17" diameter nose cones are great for cutting through the water when building a small boat or work barge. Some customers even like to put them on both ends of their boat to make it easier to maneuver. These parts weigh 14 pounds each and are designed with an indent in the rear for the button on one end of the correcsponding straight pontoon segments listed below. They can however be butted against other nose cones or the socket end of the straight segments (button and socket do not have to mate - they are plenty stout). Our 17" nose cones have mounting channels molded into the top made to accept 1.5" wide rectangular tubing or timber (nominal size 2" lumber actually measures 1 1/2" thick). If you are in need of a simple frame solution for these floats, please check out our frame kits and components page. These foam filled floats are available in black or blue.

To the right we have provided dimensioned diagrams showing our 17" diameter nose cone floats, and we have also provided CAD models to download below (2 formats) for those designing their own boat. Below to the right, we also have an example of this size float on a boat that was built here (prior to our bolt-together frame kits).

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Below we have covered some commonly asked questions about our plastic floats. If you have questions that are not covered here, please contact us.

Q: How does shipping work for these floats? How quickly do they ship?

A: Our floats ship direct from the plastics factory we work with in Arkansas. The only floats that we can ship via standard ground shipping i.e. FedEx (we do not ship floats with UPS or USPS) are our 17" diameter floats. If you need more than 3, it is typically more cost effective to ship on a pallet via truck freight. We can fit up to 12 pieces of the 17" floats on a single skid and up to 8 pieces of the 26" floats on a single skid. Each 37" wide and Elephant Series float requires its own skid (1 piece per skid) due to being so large. Turn-around time for floats varies from 1-3 weeks, depending on prior orders in the cue. Sometimes we do have inventory ready to ship, but we work on a just-in-time basis as to not take up storage space at the factory. If you absolutely need floats to ship now, please be prepared to place the order with you get our answer concerning inventory. Local pick-up for floats is available in the northeast corner of Arkansas when an order is ready and prior arrangments are required. We do not stock floats at our fabrication shop in NH other than for display purposes. We will not sell floats that are on hand at our NH location. Shipping is available to almost any location, but you can save money on freight if you have access to a commercial address with a loading dock or forklift, or are willing to pick up your floats at a local shipping depot. Floats will come shrink wrapped to a skid, unless you have us ship via FedEx ground (17" diameter floats), in which case, the floats are not packaged at all. They're tough enough to ship this way and we've done so many times.

The cost of shipping varies enough that we are unable to provide an online shipping calculator on our site. If shipping is required, please email or call to provide us with your full shipping address. We work with multiple truck freight shippers and do our best to get you the most reasonable shipping rate. We state it multiple times on this page, but please bear in mind that SHIPPING IS NOT INCLUDED IN OUR PRICING. Please contact us for a shipping quote before making your purchase.

Q: How thick is the plastic on the floats?

A: The wall thickness of our plastic floats depend on the size float that you're looking at and which part of the float you are analyzing. The wall of the 17" diameter pontoons are 3/16" to 3/8" thick, with the thickest parts being at the corners of the floats, mounting flanges, and tip of the nose cones. The larger floats (26" wide, 36" wide, and Elephant Series floats) have wall thicknesses that vary from 1/4" to 3/8" thick.

Q: What happens if one breaks?

A: These pontoons have been in production for over 30 years, and over the years of us selling them, we have not had a customer break or crack one of our floats. They really are tough as nails! However, if you're the lucky one who does break or crack one, you can either easily replace the float, or repair it, but when the damage happens, you won't sink due to the non-water absorbing urethane foam inside the float. If you choose to repair a float, remove it from the vessel (or at least pull the boat out of the water), let it drain in a dry area for a couple days, and use a HDPE plastic welding kit (often advertised as a kayak repair kit - they use the same material). This is a kit that comes with a special electric soldering iron-type tool and some plastic welding rod. People who kayak uses this type of kit to repair their boats after rock damage. These kits are obtainable for about $50 on eBay or Amazon.

Q: What do I use for a frame? Does your company build frames or provide plans?

A: We have an extensive line of aluminum frame kits listed on our Boat Kits page. Our frames come with all the pieces you need to bolt together a solid base for boats that use our 17" diameter and 26" wide floats. We offer these kits for boats up to 15' in length. We do not offer frame kits for our 37" wide floats or Elephant Series floats due to the special requirements that customers have when building boats requiring such large capacites. Please check out our Boat Kits page to view all the different arrangements that we offer.

Our larger 37" floats and Super Pontoons require that the customer design and build their own frame system. Due to liability reasons, we are not able to have anything beyond a verval conversation concerning frame design for vessels using our largest floats. If you are building a boat using our 37" wide or Elephant Series pontoons, we recommend consulting a structural engineer. We have no intentions of offering frame kits for our two largest size floats.

Q: How do your floats hold up if left in the water when it freezes. Will the ice break them?

A: We have been asked this question a few times now, but don't yet have the data. We do have customers who use our boats in the frozen north and we have yet to have one of them tell us that the ice has managed to crack one of their floats, but that's it so far. We currently recommend at least pulling vessels using our floats onto the beach if they are going to be on a body of water that freezes. We are certain that an inch or so of ice won't hurt the floats, but we do not have the data concerning a solid freeze. We will be testing a couple mini boats during the winter of 2020/2021 to see what happens when they stay out all winter during a hard freeze. We have to know too! Stay tuned for results.
